Mind can drag you down into the pit of hell or exalt you into the heavens. Mind can spin you into heart pounding anxiety or into peaceful loving compassion for all.
The power of the mind is incredible, and without meditation it is like giving a child a high powered race car without proper instruction. Our mind crashes us into life by creating drama, conflict and just overall bad decisions. Our mind can have us spinning our wheels by distracting us with useless, albeit entertaining information.
There are so many juicy distractions for the mind in this information age—facebook, e-mail, texting and googling. All information is available to us with a few keyboard strokes and a credit card. So the issue is no longer about finding the information; it is about bringing a level of consciousness to face all of these distractions. In this way you KNOW what information is true and right to serve your Soul’s destiny.
Mantra is a powerful technology given to us by the ancients to cultivate our consciousness. Mantra gives focus to the mind. Mantra is the discipline for the mind. Discipline comes from the root word disciple which comes from the Latin word meaning learner or follower. Mantra focuses your mind so that it follows you—not the other way around.
As we enter the Aquarian Age we are shifting our authority from our mind to the Soul. That means we can no longer use our mind to make our decisions for us. As a human species we are evolving past mental awareness into a self-sensory awareness system. The mind will not give up its authority so easily and you may have already experienced its protestations when you have chosen to listen to your intuition instead. Mantra is the tool to assist you in gracefully making this transition.
It is a good idea to choose a pran sutra, a mantra that is personal to you. You will know it is yours because you will have a deep resonance with it when you vibrate it.
Whenever your mind starts spinning out of control, this mantra will bring it back to its true role which is as the servant of your destiny. If you practice it diligently, it will penetrate into your subconscious mind and it will become part of you. For example, if you are in danger—a car cuts in front of you—it will be the pran sutra on your lips and not a cuss word. And at that moment when you take your last breath, your mind will serve you by vibrating this mantra to take you back home to the Infinite.
