Meditation to Change Poverty into Prosperity

This meditation uses the 25th pauree of Japji, which is said to change poverty into prosperity. It works on the pranic body, the aura, and the radiant body, moving energy from the Earth to the Heavens. When the mind comes out of duality, prosperity is there.

Chant 25th Pauree

Posture & Mudra: Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine, chin in, chest out. Bring both hands into Gyan Mudra (touch the tip of the index finger to the tip of the thumb, other fingers straight). Place the right hand next to the right shoulder, palm facing forward.

The fingers point up towards the ceiling, and the hand is up at the level of the face. The left elbow is bent into the side, and the left hand is resting, palm up, on left knee.

Eyes: Eyes are closed.

Mantra: Chant the 25th pauree of Japji Sahib aloud.

Bahutaa karam likhi-aa naa jaa-ei.
Vaddaa daataa til na tamaa-ei.
Kaytay mangeh jodh apaar.
Kayti-aa gannat nehee veechaar.
Kaytay khap tutteh vaykaar.
Kaytay lai lai mukar paa-eh.
Kaytay moorakh khaahee khaa-eh.
Kayti-aa dookh bhookh sad maar.
Ayeh bhi daat tayree daataar.
Band khalaasee bhaannai ho-ei.
Hor aakh na sakhi ko-ei.
Jay ko khaa-ik aakhann paa-ei.
Oho jaannai jaytee-aa mu-eh khaa-ei.
Aapay jaannai aapay day-ei.
Aakheh si bhi kayee kay-ei.
Jis no bakhsay sifat saalaah.
Naanak paatishaahee paatishaaho.

Translation:

His blessings are so abundant that there can be no written account of them.

The Great Giver does not hold back anything.

There are so many great, heroic warriors begging at the door of the Infinite Lord.

So many contemplate and dwell upon Him, that they cannot be counted.

So many waste away to death engaged in corruption.

So many take and take again, and then deny receiving.

So many foolish consumers keep on consuming.

So many endure distress, deprivation, and constant abuse.

Even these are Your Gifts, O Great Giver!

Liberation from bondage comes only by Your Will.

No one else has any say in this.

If some fool should presume to say that he does,

he shall learn, and feel the effects of his folly.

He Himself knows, He Himself gives.

Few, very few are those who acknowledge this.

One who is blessed to sing the Praises of the Lord,

O Nanak, is the king of kings.

Continue for 28 minutes. Energize the electromagnetic energy of the Earth and imagine you can push it up to the Heavens. Continue chanting for 6 more minutes. To end, inhale, hold the posture, and move immediately into the next section.

Meditate

Posture & Mudra: Same as above.

Breath & Focus: Breathe very long, deep, and slow through the nose. In the silence, hear the sound of the mantra in your inner ear. Breathing in this posture works to re-organize your pranic energy. Breathe long and deep, and change the dimension of your being into the beyond.

Continue for 4 minutes, 45 seconds. To end, inhale deeply, squeeze your entire spine, all 26 vertebrae, from bottom to top, bringing the energy from the Earth to the Heavens. Hold 15-20 seconds. Fire the breath out. Repeat 3 times total.

Transliteration and translation excerpted from the book Guru Nanak’s Call of the Soul: Japji Sahib.

There are many musical recitations of the 25th Pauree that you can listen to and chant along with.

It is important to dance before going to sleep at night if the meditation is done in the evening in order to balance out the energy and keep the nervous system strong. Bhangra dancing was done in this class.
